Dear members,
The revelry of Carnival has subsided and shortly the island is slowly returning to normal after the Easter celebration. 
The new Government has reduced the sales tax by half from 3% to 1.5%.  However it is anticipated that the daily Government tax will increase after having been at the same rate for the last nine (9) years. Included in this increase is a plan for funds to be made available to enhance the island’s Tourism amenities. We will keep you posted when a final announcement is made.
Although we have not reached the high levels that were experienced in 2008, the utility charges are slowly increasing again which puts emphasis on energy-savings wherever possible.
The shareholders are in the process of electing a new Foundation Board member.  The results will be announced at the Annual Shareholders’ Meeting later this year.
At the Resort, following are the projects that are in process or planned for this fiscal year.
• The elevator of Phase 2 is complete (check former posting).
• Renovations to the Phase 2 rooms continue and so far this year we have completed 2 rooms on the 4th floor. The poolside 2nd floor rooms are already completed.
• Replacement of the drapes and bedspreads for Phase 2 is in process.
• Shortly we will complete the re-routing of the main water supply to the Resort.
• We are continuing the repairs and painting of the exterior of our building.
• We have received the sample furniture for the Phase 1 bedrooms and the plan would be to have this done during the course of the year.
• We are re-insulating the air-conditioning pipes in the hallways of Phase 1 after which we will replace the corridor carpets.
• Upon receipt of a recent order, we will have dehumidifiers for each room in the Resort. Feedback so far has been extremely positive.
• In mid-April, we will commence repairs to the Tiki Restaurant.  Meals will not be affected as the kitchen will not be affected.
• At the same time we will close the pool of Phase 1 to effect repairs at the same time as the Restaurant.
• We plan to have additional equipment in the Gym.
