Dear Members,
There was some un-seasonal cloudiness and scattered showers earlier – but this has stopped for now and at least we are still warm.
• The 2009 Carnival season is over so the island has returned to normal for a brief spell. We celebrated our National Day on March 18th and Easter Holidays will be in mid-April.
• While the energy charges have not reached the drastically high levels of last year, we are still cautiously watching this development. Government has sanctioned alternate energy sources and the Resort will pursue this along with other industry partners.
• In capital projects, our in-house maintenance crew has started the refurbishing of Phase 2 rooms which we will complete subject to availability; shortly we will install a new chiller at Phase 2 and we have also contracted a replacement elevator for Phase 2. Because of the uncertainty of the world economy and the utility expenses, apart from the foregoing, we will only undertake other projects based on priority and need.
• For additional security, we are installing a gate at the beach entrance and will continue to review access from the parking lot to the Phase 2 rooms.
• For those who may be interested, this year is election year in Aruba.
• Remember that we are celebrating our 15th year this year with highlights in the month of July. We have logo’d items for purchase and we hope that your will support us.
• Also, by now your maintenance fees should have been paid. If not, please contact Jessica at the Resort.
Best regards and we wish you a very Happy Easter and good health until the next update.
